Koh Phangan, this season

The island moves with the moon. The next Full Moon Party Koh Phangan is Friday, 28 August 2026 at Haad Rin — here’s the rest of what’s coming up.

Full Moon Party dates are confirmed for 2026 (held on the full-moon night). Satellite parties (≈) follow the moon and can shift by a night or two — confirm locally before you plan around them.

The other side of the moon

The island’s weekly rhythm

Beyond the parties, Koh Phangan runs to a quieter beat — daily yoga, sound healing, cacao circles and sunset gatherings, mostly around Sri Thanu. These happen most weeks year-round; exact days and venues shift, so check locally.

Booked by date

Upcoming retreats & trainings

Fixed-date yoga teacher trainings, Vipassana retreats and breathwork immersions starting soon on the island — pulled from each centre’s own calendar. Dates can change, so confirm with the venue before you book a flight around one.

The four recurring parties at a glance

Koh Phangan runs on a monthly lunar cycle of four distinct recurring events. Here is how the Full Moon Party Koh Phangan, Half Moon Festival Koh Phangan, Jungle Experience and Waterfall Party compare — so you can pick the one that fits your trip.

Koh Phangan events FAQ

What other parties happen on Koh Phangan each month?
Around each full moon the island also hosts the Jungle Experience (a few nights before), the Half Moon Festival (about a week either side of the full moon) and the Waterfall Party (around the new moon).
What is the monthly events calendar on Koh Phangan?
Koh Phangan runs on a lunar cycle. The Jungle Experience takes place a few nights before the full moon. The Full Moon Party happens on the full-moon night at Haad Rin. The Half Moon Festival falls roughly a week either side of the full moon. The Waterfall Party takes place around the new moon, midway between Full Moon Parties. Alongside these, the island holds full-moon sound healing gatherings and new-moon cacao ceremonies at its wellness centres.
How often does the Half Moon Festival happen on Koh Phangan?
The Half Moon Festival runs roughly twice per lunar cycle — once about a week before the full moon and once about a week after it, so visitors who stay for two or three weeks can catch both editions. Exact dates shift slightly with the moon and sometimes move by a night; confirm dates locally or via the venue once you are on the island.
Are there wellness events on Koh Phangan outside of the party scene?
Yes. The west coast — particularly Sri Thanu and Hin Kong — has a dense weekly rhythm of yoga and breathwork classes (daily, mostly before midday), ecstatic dance journeys (weekly), cacao ceremonies and sound healing sessions with gongs and singing bowls (several times a week), and a sunset gathering at the beach on most evenings. Around each full moon and new moon, retreat centres also hold dedicated sound baths and intention-setting ceremonies.
What is there to do on Koh Phangan besides parties?
Quite a lot. During the day: snorkelling and diving day trips, kayaking, waterfall hikes and island-hopping boat tours. In the evenings: fire shows, live music nights and sunset bars. For slower travel: yoga teacher trainings, detox and fasting programmes, breathwork immersions and multi-day meditation retreats — most based around Sri Thanu, Haad Salad and Thong Nai Pan. The island also has a thriving café and food scene centred on Ban Tai and Sri Thanu.
